A 20 hour trip from DC to Atlanta to Dublin to Galway, and we are all settled into our apartments(which overlook Galway Bay)! We're still figuring out the internet situation here, so I won't be posting pics just yet, but hopefully by the next blog, I will have it all figured out. I've got some good ones already. :)
We arrived in Galway yesterday at 4pm, hit the grocery store, and then set out to explore the city a bit. Galway is gorgeous! The town is covered in cute shops, pubs, and cafes, and there's plenty to do. We ate dinner at The Quays pub and walked around a bit before jetlag set in (although I got a whopping six hours of sleep on the flight, much to the envy of the rest of the cast :D).
Today at 1pm we headed over to The Town Hall Theatre for our first rehearsal, where we got to finally meet our Galway girls! They bring a new energy to the cast and I am excited to see how the show develops in the next six days. In addition to performing, every cast member is assigned to a different crew position. I've been put on costume crew so I think there will be a lot of stitching and ironing in my future as we get ready to put up the show.
Numerous times in the last two days, I've stopped to marvel at the fact that I'm back in Ireland, and this time getting to perform! I'm still pinching myself that this is happening. I hear the Irish audiences are wonderful (especially when intermission is over after a few pints), and I can't wait for opening (monday!)
Tonight is pretty rainy and windy (And I thought we'd get AWAY from hurricane weather), so I'm in for the evening and currently making soup with the lovely Emily Riehl-Bedford, our Mary Warren. Tomorrow rehearsal starts at 10am and runs 'til 6 so no sightseeing for now.
My soup is ready, so I will be signing off for now. Here's a link to a little article that Galway Advertiser has written on the show:

And I may have something else for you on Thursday. ;)
Cheers!
Sarah
